MY SPECIALTIES
INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through treatment and therapy, we are able to help you recover your motivation, perspective, and joy.
Approach
I will meet you where you are and support you in getting you want to be. My approach is patient centered. We will highlight your strengths and capabilities. We will work collaboratively to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that aligns with your hopes, dreams, and aspirations.
STRESS & TRAUMA
Because of the severity of traumatic events, people who have experienced trauma often feel a loss of control. This can affect our everyday lives. We will learn what the impacts of trauma are and how this is showing up for you.
ANGRY OUTBURSTS
We can explore the severity and appropriateness of anger over the current circumstances. We can examine if there is a possible projection of any other (possibly unrelated) fears or insecurities onto this situation and making it seem worse than it is?
ADDICTION
Addiction is defined as a chronic, relapsing disorder characterized by compulsive drug seeking, continued use despite harmful consequences, and long-lasting changes in the brain. It is considered both a complex brain disorder and a mental illness (SAHMSA.gov.). We can explore resources for assessment and community resources if needed.
DEPRESSION
Depression is a common mental disorder affecting more than 264 million people worldwide. It is characterized by persistent sadness and a lack of interest or pleasure in previously rewarding or enjoyable activities. We assess for severity and provide you with the necessary crisis information to have available.
ANXIETY
Anxiety is the mind and body's reaction to stressful, dangerous, or unfamiliar situations. It's the sense of uneasiness, distress, or dread you feel before a significant event. A certain level of Anxiety helps us stay alert and aware, but for those suffering from an anxiety disorder, it feels far from normal - it can be completely debilitating.
